                           Purchase of Own Securities

On 10 March 2004 Colefax Group plc bought for cancellation a total of 318,100
ordinary shares of 10 pence each (representing 1.64 per cent. of the issued
ordinary share capital of the Company) at a price of 83.5 pence per share.

Following the cancellation of these shares there will be 19,090,000 shares in
issue.
