Colefax Group plc (the 'Company') was notified on 5 December 2000 that,
following the purchase of 800,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company
on 1 December 2000, Rights and Issues Investment Trust plc is now beneficially
interested in 1,000,000 ordinary shares in the Company (representing
approximately 4.07% of the issued share capital of the Company).
