                                  AGM STATEMENT


David Green, Chairman of Colefax Group Plc, speaking at the company's AGM today,
said:

'Since we announced our final results in July, our major market, the US, has
continued to perform well. In the UK market we are just entering our important
autumn selling season and current trading is in line with expectation. In
Europe, we have seen an improvement in some smaller markets but the major
markets, France, Italy and Germany, are still experiencing difficult trading
conditions.'

At the Annual General Meeting of the Company, all ten resolutions were duly
passed.
