Guinness Peat Group plc ("the Company") announces that it has been informed by Accident Compensation Corporation ("ACC") of New Zealand that ACC has reduced  its beneficial interest to 56,363,737 ordinary shares in the Company (3 March 2009: 57,063,737 shares), which equates to 3.98% (4.03%) of the Company's total voting rights.
