Guinness Peat Group plc


Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for a listing of  536,125 shares of 10p each of Guinness Peat Group
plc.  The application is in regards to additional shares required for the
scrip dividend alternative, for the final dividend, year ending 30 June 2001.


The shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued share
capital of the company.
