                              Holding in Company


The Company was notified on 30 January 2001 by Standard Life Investments that
on 29 January 2001 they acquired 100,000 ordinary 5p shares ('Ordinary
Shares') on behalf of Standard Life Group. Following this purchase Standard
Life Group has a shareholding of 517,190 Ordinary Shares which represents 3.54
per cent. of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital. The Ordinary Shares
are registered in the name of Stanlife Nominees Limited.
