The  Company was notified on 31 August 2000 by BG  Pension
Funds  Management Limited that the BG Group Pension Scheme
is interested in 650,843 ordinary 5p shares of the Company
('Ordinary  Shares') representing 4.55 per  cent.  of  the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.

The  Ordinary Shares are registered in the name of Stargas
Nominees Limited.
