                            DIRECTOR SHAREHOLDING


The Company was notified today that on 14 August 2001 Mr Nigel G Clark, a
director of the Company, purchased 1,042 ordinary shares of 5p each in the
Company ('Ordinary Shares') at a price of 570p per Ordinary Share. Following
this acquisition, Mr Clark's beneficial interest in the Company's issued
ordinary share capital has risen to 93,811 Ordinary Shares representing 0.64
per cent. of the Company's total issued ordinary share capital.
