Royal Wedding

Pinnacle Telecom Group plc, (AIM: PINN) the AIM listed provider of cloud technology based telecommunications solutions, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the contracts to supply network connectivity, which allowed major international news networks to broadcast coverage of the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29th, 2011.

Pinnacle provided voice and data networks opposite Buckingham Palace at Canada Gate, the Mall and Horse Guards Road, along Whitehall and Downing Street and opposite Westminster Abbey, for the BBC, CNN (USA), Seven Network (Australia) and Global Television Network (Canada).

Across the BBC as a whole, a total of 34.7 million people tuned in to watch some part of the royal wedding. More than a million people used BBC iPlayer to watch a portion of the royal wedding coverage and a total of 9.4 million people used the BBC's news website, with more than nine million viewing the page featuring live coverage of the wedding.

Mark Byford, who led BBC coverage of the wedding across TV, radio and online, said: "The huge audience of so many millions who shared the day with the BBC is a testament to all those involved in producing such high-quality and distinctive coverage, and proves once again that the BBC is the broadcaster of choice for audiences during big national events."

Commenting on the completed contracts, Alan Bonner, CEO of Pinnacle, said: "Providing the network infrastructure that underpinned the media broadcast of the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, was another great opportunity to showcase Pinnacle's expertise in the deployment of high-profile temporary networks. I am pleased to announce that the event was delivered without a glitch using a combination of fixed line connectivity and next-generation cloud based services."
