Cardinal Resources plc (AIM:CDL) ('Cardinal' or 'the Company'), an independent
oil and gas production and exploration company operating in Ukraine, was
notified yesterday that:

   •  Providence Recovery Partners LP ('Providence'), following purchases 
      between 15 December 2005 and 28 November 2006 for a price per share 
      between £0.11 and £0.18, now has an interest in 3,480,000 Cardinal 
      Ordinary Shares representing 3.04% of the issued Ordinary Share Capital of 
      the Company.

   •  In addition, Mr. L. G. Schafran, partner at Providence, following
      purchases between 22 July 2005 and 4 December 2006 has an interest in 
      320,000 Cardinal Ordinary Shares and together with his spouse has an 
      interest in 240,000 Cardinal Ordinary Shares, which combined represent 
      0.49% of the issued Ordinary Share Capital of the Company
