NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES
The company was informed on 25th October, 2001 by HSBC Investment Bank plc
that as at close of business on 23 October, 2001 it was interested in
4,366,320 (3.21%) ordinary shares of 25p each of the company ('the shares')
and that as at close of business on 24 October, 2001 HSBC Investment Bank plc
no longer had a notifiable interest in the shares.
