Directorate change

The board of directors of Close Brothers Group plc ("Close Brothers" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Kari Hale as an independent non-executive director with effect from 28 June 2023.

On joining the board, Kari will become a member of the board's Risk and Audit Committees. At the same time, and consistent with the Company's other independent non-executive directors, he will also become a director of the Company's Banking subsidiary, Close Brothers Limited.

Kari has extensive experience as an auditor and spent the majority of his career at Deloitte.  He has financial services experience and broader sector exposure as Head of Strategy for the Financial Services Practice.  Kari also spent three years as an executive director at the Financial Services Authority.  He is currently a non-executive director and audit committee chair at Axa UK plc.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules in relation to Kari's appointment as a director of Close Brothers.
