Tim Harris joins Board

Clarkson PLC 25 March 2002 CLARKSON PLC APPOINTS TIM HARRIS AS NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD DIRECTOR Clarkson PLC ('Clarksons'), a provider of international shipping services, has strengthened its Board with the appointment of Tim Harris as a non-executive director with immediate effect. Tim Harris, aged 54, spent 25 years at P&O until May 2000. At P&O, Tim was Chairman and Chief Executive of P&O Cruises from 1986 to 2000 and Chairman of P& O Containers from 1989 to 1996, thereafter becoming Chief Executive of P&O Nedlloyd. He was appointed Chairman of James Fisher and Sons plc on 1st January 2002. In particular, Tim will play an important part in formulating Clarkson's growth strategy for the future. SGT merged with P&O in February 1985. In 1986 appointed to the P&O Board. In 1986 appointed chairman and chief executive of P&O's cruise interests, based in Los Angeles. In 1989 assumed the additional role as chairman of P&O Containers Limited, one of the world's leading container operators. In 1995 appointed assistant managing director of P&O. In 1996 appointed chief executive officer of P&O Nedlloyd Container Line Limited, one of the world's top three container lines in terms of standing slots. In May 2000 resigned from P&O on the demerger of P&O Princess Cruises and the P& O Steam Navigation Company. Tim was President of the Chamber of Shipping from March 1995 to March 1996.
