The Ferrobulk Group of Companies and Clarksons today announce that they are in
discussions with a view to merging their operations in Italy.  Ferrobulk, based
in Genoa, is a privately owned shipbroking group with 30 staff predominantly
serving the dry bulk sector.

Massimo Dentice, Chairman of Ferrobulk commented: 'The Italian market offers
considerable opportunities to an international group like Clarksons.  I am
delighted that my colleagues and I will be operating their franchise in Italy.
This will further enhance the service we offer our international and local
clients.  Clarksons has an unrivalled name in shipping and we look forward to
delivering their full range of products, including freight/asset management
consultancy/ general research and S&P.'

This transaction is still subject to due diligence and final contract.  In
accordance with the UK Listing Authority Rules, further details of this Class 2
transaction will be made upon completion.
