Horace Clarkson PLC ('Clarksons'), the leading international shipbroking and
services group, announces the appointment of Richard Fulford-Smith, Managing
Director of the Sale and Purchase Division, to the Board as an Executive
Director.
Richard Fulford-Smith, aged 45, has more than 20 years experience in the
international shipping markets. He specialises in the area of new building
and second hand business and is acknowledged to be one of the world's leading
shipbrokers in this field. Richard Fulford-Smith joined Clarksons in 1992
from Simpson Spence & Young. He was previously with the Ocean Transport and
Trading group Eggar Forrester and J.E.Hyde.
Michael Beckett, Chairman of Horace Clarkson PLC, said: 'Richard joins the
board at an important stage in our group's development and his considerable
experience and knowledge will play an important role in taking Clarksons
forward. Richard has been instrumental in recent corporate developments and
in the design and implementation of a number of new and exciting business
initiatives. He has most recently spearheaded the formation of Clarksons
Financial Services and the LNG Working Group and is working on the design of a
number of new products which will be announced shortly.'
Richard Fulford-Smith, Managing Director of the Sale and Purchase Division,
