City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group focused on emerging markets and closed-end funds,  announces that on 10 May 2018 the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 50,000 ordinary shares of 1p each at a price of 435 pence per share.  Following this purchase the Trust holds 1,390,485 ordinary shares in the Company representing 5.2% of the Company's issued capital, of which 287,426 (1.1% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
