Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The City of London Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brief as a non-executive director to the Board with effect from 1 January 2009.  

Mr Brief is Chief Investment Officer of BAE Systems Pension Funds Investment Management Limited and a non-executive director of Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc.  Mr Brief is one of the UK's most experienced pensions investment executives with thirty years in the investment business.

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules it is confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Mr Brief.
