The   City  of  London  Investment  Trust  plc  announces  the
following board changes:

Mr  George Duncan will retire from the board after the  Annual
General Meeting on 2 November 2000.

Mr  Simon  M  de  Zoete joins the board  with  effect  from  7
September  2000.   Mr  de Zoete, who is  aged  59,  is  Deputy
Chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston (Europe) Limited and  a
director of Mallett PLC.
