Directors' shareholdings

Churchill China PLC ('Churchill' and 'the Company') was notified today that a
connected person of Mr R Kettel, a Director of the Company, purchased 8,000
Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each in the Company at a price of 219 pence per
share on 28 June 2004.  The shares purchased represent 0.07 per cent. of the
issued share capital of Churchill.

As a result of this purchase, Mr Kettel and his connected persons are interested
in 20,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing 0.19 per cent. of its
issued share capital.
