Director's shareholdings

In accordance with s. 324 - 328 of the Companies Act 1985, as amended the
following four directors have notified the Company that they have today sold
part of their holdings at a price of 205p per share.

Mr E S Roper sold 16,250 shares representing 0.15 per cent. of the issued share
capital. He remains interested in 1,203,045 shares representing 11.16 per cent.
of the issued share capital.

Following the exercise of certain of the following director's share options,
which were announced on 28 April 2004, the directors have sold the following
shares:

Mr D Taylor sold 14,250 shares representing 0.13 per cent. of the issued share
capital. He remains interested in 10,000 shares representing 0.09 per cent. of
the issued share capital.

Mr D O'Connor  sold 9,750 shares representing 0.09 per cent. of the issued share
capital. He remains interested in 4,599 shares representing 0.04 per cent. of
the issued share capital.

Mr R Grundy sold 20,000 shares representing 0.19 per cent. of the issued share
capital. He remains interested in 4,500 shares representing 0.04 per cent. of
the issued share capital.
