Christie Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment to day of Michael
Likierman (61) as a non-executive director of the company.


He founded Habitat France where he became CEO (1972 - 1980) and went on to
co-found GrandVision Group - a pan-european company based in France (which
owns Vision Express in the UK), where until earlier this year he was
co-chairman and is now non-executive chairman.   More recently he was
appointed a director of Photo Europe and is a director of a number of other
private companies.   He is also a non-executive director of two listed
companies, France Telecom in France and i-Spire (an internet investment
holding company) in the UK.


He was recently made Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (2000).
