             CHEMRING APPOINTS NEW GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

Chemring  Group  PLC  announced  today that Paul Rayner has joined the
Board and been appointed the Group s new Finance Director. 

Ray  Gibbs,  whom  Paul  replaces, has resigned as Finance Director to
pursue other interests. 

Paul  (37) qualified at Deloitte & Touche and joined Chemring in 1994.
His most recent appointment was Financial Director responsible for the
Marine, Countermeasures and Military pyrotechnics businesses.
