BFS Small Companies Dividend Trust PLC


The Company was informed today by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited that as a
result of the acquisition by Aberdeen High Income Trust plc of HL Income &
Growth Trust plc on 20 November 2001, they acquired 800,000 Ordinary shares.

The total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and
its associated companies is 4,350,000 Ordinary shares, representing 27.62% of
the issued class of capital.


The breakdown of the total holding is as follows:
