            Disposal of BP Purchasing (Electronics) Limited ('BPP')

Elektron Plc (the 'Company' or 'Elektron'), the AIM quoted components and
electronics group, announces that it has disposed of BPP to Brian Emerson, a
former director of the Company, for a nominal sum.

BPP distributes hard-to-find electronic and electromechanical components. In the
year ended 31 January 2004 BPP incurred a loss of £16,000 on turnover of
£799,000. At the date of sale BPP had estimated negative net assets of £25,000.
The result on disposal is not expected to be material.

The sale of BPP completes the Company's divestment programme.
