Aldo Horvat, a non-executive director of The Character Group plc has today
resigned from the Board to concentrate on new challenges in Italy and mainland
Europe as well as to pursue personal interests.

Richard King, Chairman, stated on behalf of the Board 'he would like to thank Mr
Horvat for his valuable input to the Group and wishes him well in the pursuit of
his other interests.'

Mr Horvat joined the Board on 29 November 2002 in order to represent Giocci
Preziosi who own 21.8% of the outstanding shares.

There are no current plans to appoint a replacement non-executive.
