Chairman's Statement

Dinkie Heel announced at the annual general meeting of the Company today that
orders had improved but that nevertheless the Company had incurred a loss in
the first quarter of this year.  

In his address the Chairman, Mr David Parkes, said:

'Your Board is doing all it can to cut the overheads and improve the margins
in our steel and rubber businesses, whilst at the same time expanding our
newer businesses in Northampton.  I cannot pretend it is easy nor can I
promise a quick return to profitability of the Company as a whole, but I
believe the actions we are taking will succeed'.
