Perfect Analysis Discontinued

Centaur Media PLC 08 October 2007 8th October 2007 Centaur Media plc ("Centaur") Centaur, the specialist business publishing and information company, announces today that, following a strategic review, it has decided to discontinue Perfect Analysis, the equity research service developed by Perfect Information. Perfect Analysis was originally launched in 2004 following the acquisition of Synergy Software Solutions Ltd. In the year ended 30 June 2007, Perfect Analysis' results, as reported segmentally within Perfect Information, consisted of revenues of £0.6 million and losses of £0.3m. Geoff Wilmot, Chief Executive Officer, said: "As we indicated in our recent results announcement, whilst Perfect Analysis has been a considerable technical success, it has yet to prove itself commercially. We have therefore been conducting a thorough review of our strategic options for this business. The review found that Perfect Analysis' superior ease of use and functionality could not overcome its relative lack of content. We have concluded that, in order to achieve commercial success with Perfect Analysis, we need to commit to a significant investment in content and in delivering a faster pace of development. In our view there is a high degree of uncertainty as to the return we would receive on this investment. The Board has therefore concluded that shareholders would be better rewarded by directing Centaur's resources towards upgrading and developing the core filings business of Perfect Information, where we see significantly greater opportunities for growth. In view of this we have decided to discontinue Perfect Analysis."
