Resource upgrade

Centamin Egypt Limited 06 February 2007 Centamin Egypt Limited ('Centamin' or 'the Company') Sukari Gold Project Resource Upgrade • Sukari JORC compliant resource upgrade to 8.26 million contained ounces of gold • Increase of 560,000 ounces above the resource announced in November 2006 • Cost per ounce discovered to date circa US$4 • Confirmation of extension of mineralisation from the Amun and Ra zones into the Pharaoh zone with higher grade north plunging ore shoots • Resource increase based on two months of drilling data • Drilling continues with nine rigs on site RESOURCE MODELLING The Sukari global resource now stands at 174.20Mt @ 1.47g/t Au for 8.26 Moz Au, at a 0.5g/t Au cut off grade. Total Resource (February 2007 - Global All Data) Cut-off Measured Indicated Inferred Total TOTAL Mt g/t Mt g/t Mt g/t Mt g/t Moz 0.5 47.39 1.40 73.98 1.39 52.80 1.70 174.20 1.47 8.26 0.7 34.44 1.70 53.45 1.69 38.60 2.10 126.52 1.81 7.35 1.0 22.40 2.16 34.36 2.16 25.90 2.70 82.64 2.32 6.17 Note to Table: Figures in table may not add correctly due to rounding The resources are estimates of recoverable tonnes and grades using Multiple Indicator Kriging with block support correction. Measured resources lie in areas where drilling is available at a nominal 25 x 25 metre spacing, Indicated resources occur in areas drilled at approximately 25 x 50 metre spacing and Inferred resources exist in areas of broader spaced drilling. The resource estimate has been based on the sampling and geological logging coming from 817 diamond and RC drill holes combining to give approximately 168,000 metres of drilling and from available assaying as at 01 February 2007. The resource data set comprises approximately 88,421 two-metre down hole composites and surface rock chip samples. The mineral resource estimate has been adjusted to present land surfaces (currently available and subject to change) and previous underground mining (very minor effect on total resources). The Company is very pleased with the continued rapid increase in the size of the Sukari Gold deposit and there still exists the potential for further significant resource addition within the same Ra / Gazelle and Pharaoh zones as drilling continues northwards along strike.
