Celtic PLC 29 April 2005 Celtic Plc Non- Executive Director Appointment at Celtic Celtic plc announces that Brian Wilson will join the Board of the Company as a non-executive director on 1st June 2005. Celtic's Chairman, Brian Quinn, said: 'We're delighted that Brian will be joining the Celtic board. His unrivalled knowledge of the Club and his wide range of experience and knowledge will be extremely valuable assets. I am sure his appointment will be warmly welcomed by everyone connected with Celtic.' Mr Wilson said: 'To be invited to join the Board of the Club whose fortunes I have followed since boyhood is clearly a great honour. This is an exciting time for Celtic and I am looking forward to making a contribution to the continuing growth and success of the Club.' Mr Wilson (56) has served as Labour MP for the Cunninghame North constituency since 1987 but announced his decision to stand down at the forthcoming General Election. He held a number of senior positions during his Parliamentary career including Scottish Office Minister for Education & Industry, UK Trade Minister and Energy Minister. An experienced journalist, Mr Wilson is the author of the Official History of Celtic FC. He is married with 3 children and lives in Glasgow.
