Grant of Options

The Company announces that on 27 July 2001 options were granted to directors
and members of staff at 35.5p per share under the terms of the Company's share
option schemes. These options are exercisable after 3 years and are subject to
performance criteria set by the Remuneration Committee.

The interests of the directors in the issued share capital of the Company,
following the grant of these options, is as follows:
