Newsplayer Group PLC 01 December 2003 For immediate release 1st December 2003 Newsplayer Group PLC and NTL Group Limited announce partnership for paid-for premium content service Newsplayer Group PLC ('NPG'), the media company, today announces its agreement with NTL Home ('NTL') to provide content for NTL's Broadband Plus ('B+') service, being launched by NTL on 3rd December 2003. The B+ content package offers NTL broadband subscribers unlimited access to a comprehensive choice of games, music, family and kids entertainment for £3.99 per month. NPG's archives of historic, educational and entertainment video content will be a significant contribution to the B+ package. B+ users will benefit from unlimited access to all seven of the NPG channels at a fraction of the usual cost. The two-year agreement makes NPG content immediately available to NTL's 300,000 broadband customers with connection speeds of 600kbps or 1mbps during a free trial period. NTL will market, sell and bill customers for NPG services. NTL will pay NPG a share of the revenues derived from the sales of B+ and a bounty payment for attributable sales of NTL's Broadband Access services. NTL will also cover bandwidth costs from within the NTL network. NPG will independently generate advertising revenues from within B+. The launch of B+ also marks the launch of NPG's latest channel, Timetunnel.tv. Timetunnel.tv is a mega streaming video channel, including the newsplayer, frost, screenplayer and pureworldcup channels. B+ subscribers will be able to watch featured collections of footage and do their own searches of video footage from ITN and Reuters newsreels dating from 1896 to 2000; hundreds of landmark interviews conducted by Sir David Frost over 40 years; showbiz footage and biographies of the Hollywood Stars of the 20th Century and highlights from 40 years of the World Cup Football tournament. NPG's music video service, VideoTV, an interactive music-video jukebox with over 3,500 chart-topping music videos, will also be offered to B+ customers within the music area of the service. VideoTV enables subscribers to search and create play lists of a wide variety of music videos spanning the 20th Century; from Nat King Cole to Kylie Minogue and Placido Domingo to the Sex Pistols.
