Newsplayer Group PLC 24 September 2003 Wednesday, 24 September 2003 Newsplayer Group PLC Announces new distribution partnership with KPN Royal Dutch Telecom Newsplayer Group PLC ('NPG') today announces that it has signed a new agreement with leading Dutch telecommunications company, KPN, to license its extensive streaming media archive of fully searchable video footage. KPN will pay licence fees to NPG for the Newsplayer, PureWorldCup, Screenplayer and VideoTV streaming archives, which it will make available to its ADSL subscribers. The historical entertainment footage, which covers major news events, great sporting moments, Hollywood documentaries and chart-topping music, will constitute part of a free, new content service offered by KPN. The service, which will be launched in October 2003, will be free from advertising, allowing customers unhindered access to a video rich area. Subscribers will have unlimited access to the service and will be able to search, play and create play-lists of favourite clips. The service will also include 'spotlights' on select moments and figures in history from across the archives. Users will be able to view the archives at 300 kbps using the Microsoft Media player format.
