Newsplayer Group PLC 13 February 2002 13 February 2002 NEWSPLAYER SIGNS WORLDWIDE CONTENT DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH CABLE AND WIRELESS Newsplayer Group Plc (NPG), the New Media company, announces that is has signed a distribution agreement with Cable and Wireless, to syndicate its entire range of current and future video-on-demand channels through Cable & Wireless' worldwide network of over a thousand Internet Service Providers (ISP's), that procure IP access and transit from them. The one year renewable agreement means that NPG's content will be promoted to over 80 million subscribers in 70 countries on a subscription or pay per view basis with the resulting revenue being shared between NPG, Cable & Wireless and the ISP. NPG's existing streaming media content includes Newsplayer.com, 20th Century history from the video archives of ITN and Reuters; Screenplayer.com, biographies and documentaries of the Hollywood Stars and Frost.TV, landmark interviews conducted by Sir David Frost over the past forty years. VideoTV, a hundred years of streamable music and videos from the archives of EMI, will be launched in March and further channels are planned to follow.
