Newsplayer Group plc

Newsplayer Group plc ('the Company') announces the allotment of 173,140 ordinary
shares of 1p each in the share capital of the Company at par to Virgin Holdings
Inc. pursuant to an option agreement dated 27 November 2001.

Application has been made for the new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading
on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange. It is
expected that admission will become effective and that dealings in the new
ordinary shares will commence on 2 May 2002.
