Carr's Milling Industries PLC 01 September 2004 Wednesday 1 September 2004 CARR'S MILLING INDUSTRIES PLC LORD INGLEWOOD APPOINTED A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Carr's, the Cumbria-based agriculture, food and engineering group, announces that Lord Inglewood MA (Cantab), Barrister, MRICS, DL, FSA, aged 53, has been appointed a non-executive Director with effect from today. * Richard Inglewood was a Conservative member of the European Parliament for 10 years, from 1989 to 1994 for Cumbria and North Lancashire and from 1999 to July 2004 for North West England. * A member of the House of Lords since 1989, from 1995 to 1997 he was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of National Heritage (Minister for Broadcasting and Tourism) and since 1999 he has been an elected hereditary peer. * He has been Chairman of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art since 2003. * He has been a non-executive Director of CN Group Limited (local media) in Cumbria since 1997 (Chairman since 2002). * His private interests in Cumbria include farming dairy and beef cattle, sheep and arable, and a Directorship of The Pheasant Inn (Bassenthwaite Lake) Limited. * His charitable interests in Cumbria include Directorships of The Lake District Calvert Trust Limited and of the Whitehaven Community Trust Limited.
