Carillion selected for support services contracts worth over £370 million

Carillion has been selected as the preferred bidder for support services contracts by Canada Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), and been awarded a support services contract by Arqiva that together are expected to be worth in excess of £370 million over five years.

In Canada, Bouchier Carillion has been selected by CNRL to provide integrated support services for CNRL's Horizon mine project in Fort MacKay, Alberta, that will include building maintenance and renovation, camp maintenance and fire water maintenance.

Carillion has been selected by RBS to provide support services covering the operation, maintenance and repair of its 1.5 million square metre estate in Great Britain.  Under this five-year contract, Carillion will provide these services for the Bank's branches, offices and cash and coin centres in England, Scotland and Wales.

The contract for Arqiva, the communications infrastructure and media services company, involves the provision of hard and soft facilities management for its corporate estate as well as specialist maintenance works for Arqiva's network of broadcast structures and masts.

Carillion Chief Executive, Richard Howson, said: "We are delighted to have been selected for these support services contracts, which reflect the positive start we have made to work-winning in 2014.  The contracts we have won for private sector customers in the UK are particularly pleasing, given that relatively few major private sector opportunities have come to market in recent years.  In Canada, we continue to build on the good progress we have made in the oil and gas sector since we acquired an interest in the Bouchier Group in December 2012."

The contracts for RBS and Arqiva were classified by Carillion as probable orders at 31 December 2013.
