Carillion plc (the 'Company') has today been notified that as of 20 November
2000 neither Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Limited nor any of its
affiliates in the Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Limited has a notifiable
interest (under Companies Act 1985 ss.198-202 (as amended)) in the Company's
ordinary shares of 50p each.
