Carillion agrees sale of former Mowlem business, MESG

Carillion, the UK support services and construction company, has agreed the
terms of the sale of Mowlem Environmental Sciences Group (MESG) to Inspicio plc
for a cash consideration of £16 million. Completion of the sale is expected
shortly.

MESG was the specialist environmental division of Mowlem plc, which was acquired
by Carillion plc on 23 February 2006. MESG offers technical advice, laboratory
testing and specialist contracting services. These activities are not core
businesses for Carillion and do not fit its strategy for growth.
