Carillion appoints new Company Secretary and Director of Legal Services

Construction to services company, Carillion plc, has appointed Richard Tapp as
its new Company Secretary and Director of Legal Services to replace Dirk
FitzHugh, who retires on 30 November after a 28-year career with the Group.

Richard, who is aged 42, joins Carillion from Blue Circle Industries PLC where
he has been Company Secretary and Head of Group Legal since 1996, having been
with the company for 15 years.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1984, after attending Sheffield University. He
is also a Chartered Secretary and holds an LLM in European Law from Leicester
University and an MBA in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School.
