                     CARCLO PLC ('Carclo')

Carclo plc announces that on 19 December 2000, it purchased,
through Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, 150,000 ordinary shares of
5p each in Carclo at 120p per share.  The purchase represents
approximately 0.27 per cent. of Carclo's issued ordinary share
capital.
