                     CARCLO PLC ('Carclo')

Carclo plc announces that on 13 December 2000, it purchased,
through Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, 1,000,000 ordinary shares
of 5p each in Carclo at 113p per share.  The purchase
represents approximately 1.79 per cent. of Carclo's issued
ordinary share capital.
