Interests of Chief Executive in the Company's Shares

Cairn announces that on, Simon Thomson, Chief Executive, has today purchased 50,000 Ordinary Shares of ²³¹/₁₆₉ pence each in the Company at a price of £1.49787 per share.

Following this purchase, the Chief Executive's beneficial interests in the Ordinary Shares of the Company are as follows:-
