                        CAPITAL & REGIONAL PLC APPOINTS ALAN COPPIN
                               AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR



Capital & Regional plc, the co-investing property asset manager, announces that
it has today appointed Alan Coppin as an additional non-executive director.


Alan Coppin, who is aged 54, is currently chairman of Danoptra Limited, the
leading amusement machine and leisure management group backed by Electra.  His
previous positions have included being Chief Executive of Wembley plc and
Historic Royal Palaces.  In the voluntary sector, his current appointments
include the chairmanship of the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment
and membership of the Advisory Forum of the Said Business School at Oxford
University.


Tom Chandos, the chairman of Capital & Regional plc, said: "Alan Coppin brings
very broad commercial experience and, specifically, exceptional understanding of
destinations, which will be of great value to both our retail and leisure
property operations.  We are delighted that we will be able to draw on this
experience as well as benefit from his active interest in a wide range of key
management and governance issues."
