Capita Group PLC 14 March 2002 14 March 2002 THE CAPITA GROUP PLC Capita signs contract to deliver Congestion Charging Scheme for Transport for London The Capita Group Plc ('Capita') announces that it has today signed the contract with Transport for London ('TfL') to administer the new Congestion Charging Scheme ('the Scheme') for London. The confirmation of the contract follows Capita's appointment as preferred bidder in December 2001 and a period of public consultation. The contract is worth approximately £230 million (NPV) over the first 5 years of operation of the Scheme and has a potential 2-year extension. Capita will deliver and manage the customer services infrastructure. This includes multi-contact customer service centres which will enable payment through telephone, web and IVR (interactive voice recognition), the back office administration processes and the retail network to enable payments to be made at retail outlets, such as shops, kiosks and petrol stations. During the period of negotiation with TfL, Capita has continued with system development and testing.
