CUMBRIA COUNTY COUNCIL EXTENDS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH CAPITA

The Capita Group Plc ('Capita') announces that Cumbria County Council has agreed
to extend their strategic partnership with Capita to deliver highways, property
and finance services. The extension, subject to contract, is worth £36 million
over three years to January 2011. The original seven year contract commenced in
February 2001.

Rod Aldridge, Executive Chairman of Capita, said, 'It is through long-term
partnership-based relationships like ours with Cumbria County Council, that
continuing service improvement and enhancement can be achieved. We are delighted
to have had our agreement extended. We look forward to building upon our
achievements to date, to deliver further service and value to the Council and
its communities across this ten year partnership.'

Capita was awarded the contract extension following a rigorous review process.
Under the new agreement, Capita will continue to deliver its services from the
company's Regional Business Centre in Carlisle which provides highway and
property maintenance, occupational health, finance and pensions administration.

Jack Richardson, cabinet spokesman for the strategic partnership, commented, 
'Our aim is to continue to bring high quality services to Cumbria and its
citizens. We are very pleased to be building on the strengths of our existing
close relationship with Capita and taking the partnership forward to improve
services further.'
