Caledonian Trust PLC - Purchase of Own Securities


On 29 June 2001, the Company acquired a total of 2,500 of its own Ordinary
Shares as detailed below: -

(i) the transaction was effected on 29 June 2001

(ii) the securities acquired were Ordinary Shares of 20p each in the capital
of the Company. The shares were purchased by way of a market transaction at a
price of 75p per share

(iii) the shares will be cancelled

(iv) following this buy-back the authorised and issued Ordinary Shares Capital
of the Company will be 12,017,769 Ordinary Shares of 20p each.
