                           Transaction in own shares



Caledonia Investments plc ('Caledonia') announces that on 5 March 2007 it
purchased 25,000 of its own ordinary shares of 5p each at a price of 1952p per
share.  These shares are to be held in treasury.



Following the purchase, Caledonia holds 140,000 of its ordinary shares in
treasury and has a total of 58,654,781 ordinary shares with voting rights
(excluding treasury shares) in issue.
