Purchase of own shares

11 May 2007.

Caledonia Investments plc announces that it has today purchased 30,000 of its
ordinary shares from JPMorgan Cazenove Limited at a price of 2130p.  The
repurchased shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following this purchase Caledonia Investments plc holds 170,000 ordinary shares
in treasury and has 58,624,781 ordinary Shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
