CALEDONIA INVESTMENTS PLC - GRANT OF SHARE OPTIONS

Caledonia Investments plc ('Caledonia') announces that on 19 August 2005 options
over ordinary 5p shares ('Shares') in Caledonia were granted to executive
directors under the Caledonia Investments 2005 Executive Share Option Scheme
('the 2005 Scheme') at an exercise price of 1580p per share as follows:
