We have been advised on the 12th April 2002 by Global Asset Management that
their beneficial interest in the ordinary share capital of Caffyns plc remains
the same at 350,000 ordinary shares. However, as the issued share capital has
changed, the holdings now represent 12.09%. This is broken down into:-

222,500    GAM UK Diversified               (7.69%) 
127,500    GAM Exempt UK Opportunities Fund (4.4%)
